How to use this tool

  1. Enter the start and end values.
  2. Enter a finite nonzero step in the intended direction.
  3. Review the generated sequence and item count.

Sequence rules

Starting at the first value, the generator adds the chosen step until it passes the end bound. The end value appears only if the steps land on it. Start 1, end 5, step 2 gives 1, 3, 5; start 5, end 1, step -2 gives 5, 3, 1. A step facing away from the end can yield an empty list.

Where it helps

Create numbered test data, page references, simple intervals, or a compact count-up or countdown list. The result is a plain number sequence, not text with labels or formatting. Add Line Numbers instead prefixes existing text lines with positions.

Bounds and review

Inputs must be finite numbers, the step cannot be zero, and output is capped at 10,000 values. Decimal steps can reflect ordinary floating-point arithmetic, so check exact displayed values when the sequence will be used for calculations. The tool does not promise a statistically sampled or random list.

Questions people ask

Is the end always included?

No; only if the step reaches it exactly.

Can I count downward?

Yes; use a negative step with a lower end.

What happens if the step points away from the end?

The generated list can be empty.
