Superscript Generator
Superscript Generator raises supported characters using available Unicode superscript symbols.
Example: superscript generator
x2 + y3
ˣ² ⁺ ʸ³
How to use this tool
- Enter a compact expression or label.
- Run the superscript mapping and read any missing-symbol warning.
- Check operators and unsupported letters before copying.
How the result is made
The tool maps many lowercase Latin letters, digits, parentheses, and a few operators to raised forms. “x2 + y3” becomes “ˣ² ⁺ ʸ³”. The mapping is incomplete: letters such as q have no counterpart here, and uppercase letters are handled through lowercase lookup when available.
When to use it
Use it for a short decorative annotation, a simple exponent-like label, or a pasted plain-text notation that cannot use rich formatting. For mathematical documents, true superscript markup gives clearer semantics and more reliable layout. Subscript Generator serves a different vertical position and a smaller letter map.
Details to check
Unsupported letters and numerals remain at normal height and produce a warning. A superscript-looking string is not parsed as a calculation. Font support and line spacing vary between apps; check the copied result when it sits beside ordinary text.
Questions people ask
Does it calculate exponents?
No. It only substitutes characters.
Are all letters supported?
No. Unicode has an incomplete set in this mapping.
Can I use it for footnotes?
It can make a visual marker, but document markup is better where available.
