Underline Text Generator
Underline Text Generator adds a combining underline mark to non-whitespace graphemes.
Example: underline text generator
note
n̲o̲t̲e̲
How to use this tool
- Type a short phrase with ordinary spaces.
- Run Underline Text and inspect marked letters.
- Test the copied result in the destination font.
How the result is made
The tool appends U+0332 after each displayed grapheme while leaving spaces and line breaks alone. “note” becomes n̲o̲t̲e̲. This creates copyable text with an underline effect, rather than applying a formatting property to a browser element.
When to use it
Use it for a brief visual emphasis in a plain-text context. Strikethrough Text Generator places a mark through the letters instead. If an underline must indicate an actual link or accessible emphasis on a webpage, normal HTML and CSS are more appropriate.
Details to check
The underline can sit at different heights across fonts and may interact with existing accents or emoji. The added marks also change the underlying text sequence. Check both the visual result and how copying, searching, or counting the text behaves in the destination.
