Remove Empty Lines
Remove Empty Lines drops blank and whitespace-only lines while leaving nonblank line text unchanged.
Example: remove empty lines
a b
a b
How to use this tool
- Paste text containing blank rows.
- Run Remove Empty Lines and inspect the compacted line list.
- Check whether paragraph breaks were intentionally removed.
How the result is made
The tool checks each line after trimming for emptiness. Lines with no visible content are removed; the remaining lines are rejoined in their original order. “a” followed by an empty line and “b” becomes two adjacent lines. Spaces on a nonempty line remain as entered.
When to use it
Use it to compact a pasted list, prepare records for line-based sorting, or remove gaps in a log excerpt. It differs from Normalize Paragraph Breaks, which keeps a consistent blank line between paragraphs, and from Remove Line Breaks, which puts all content on one line.
Details to check
Whitespace-only lines are removed, so any intentional paragraph separation disappears. The tool does not trim the surviving lines. If you need both edge cleanup and blank-line removal, apply Trim Lines first and then check that the resulting paragraphs still make sense.
