Reverse Lines
Reverse Lines moves lines into the opposite order without changing the text inside each line.
Example: reverse lines
first second
second first
How to use this tool
- Put each item on its own line in the input.
- Run Reverse Lines; the last line should become the first.
- Review blank lines and wrapped paragraphs before copying the reordered block.
How the result is made
The tool splits input at line breaks, reverses the line array, and joins it again. “first” followed by “second” becomes “second” followed by “first”. The spelling, punctuation, and spacing inside each line stay as supplied. Blank lines also occupy positions and may move with the reversal.
When to use it
Use it to invert a pasted list, change a log excerpt from oldest-first to newest-first, or reorder short multiline notes. Unlike the homepage reverse action, it does not write letters backwards. Reverse Paragraphs changes blank-line-separated blocks rather than every physical line.
Details to check
If a paragraph wraps across several physical lines, each of those lines will move independently. This can scramble a visually wrapped paragraph. For structured prose, use Reverse Paragraphs; for a list, first remove unwanted blank lines if they should not take part in the reversal.
Questions people ask
Will the letters in each line reverse?
No. Only line positions change.
Do blank lines count?
Yes. They are entries in the line sequence.
What if I need whole paragraphs reversed?
Use Reverse Paragraphs for blank-line-separated blocks.
