Camel Case Converter
Camel Case Converter joins words into a lower-initial identifier such as `helloWorld`.
Example: camel case converter
hello world
helloWorld
How to use this tool
- Enter words separated by spaces or punctuation.
- Run Camel Case to join them with the first word lowercase.
- Check acronym boundaries and any existing camelCase source text.
How the result is made
The tool finds runs of Unicode letters and numbers, lowercases each run, and joins them without separators. The first run remains lowercase; later runs gain an initial capital. “hello world” becomes “helloWorld”. Spaces, hyphens, underscores, and most punctuation are removed as separators.
When to use it
Use it for a JavaScript-style variable name, an API property draft, or consistent labels in a data export. Pascal Case capitalizes the first run too. Snake Case and Kebab Case keep visible separators, which can be easier to read in filenames or URLs.
Details to check
The tokenizer does not split an existing camelCase token into words: “myVariable” is one run and may become “myvariable”. Acronyms are lowercased before rebuilding, and non-Latin letters can remain inside the identifier. Check the target language’s naming rules before using generated identifiers in code.
Questions people ask
Will it detect existing camelCase boundaries?
No. A continuous token is treated as one word.
Are separators retained?
No. They are removed when words are joined.
How is Pascal Case different?
Pascal Case also capitalizes the first word.
