Title Case Converter
Title Case Converter makes a mechanical title-style result by lowercasing text and capitalizing every detected word.
Example: title case converter
a simple title
A Simple Title
How to use this tool
- Enter the heading or title.
- Run Title Case to normalize all words to initial capital plus lowercase remainder.
- Restore acronyms and any minor-word capitalization required by your style.
How the result is made
The current implementation first lowercases the full input, then capitalizes the first character of each letter-or-number word run. “a simple title” becomes “A Simple Title”. It does not apply a publication style guide: short words such as “and” or “of” are capitalized too, and acronyms lose their original case.
When to use it
Use it for a fast uniform heading draft when every word should start with a capital. Capitalize Each Word differs subtly: it raises word starts but retains the existing case of the remaining letters. Sentence Case instead leaves most words lowercase and capitalizes detected sentence starts.
Details to check
Hyphens, punctuation, and apostrophes can affect where the regular expression sees a word. Proper names and known acronyms need manual review. If a house style keeps minor words lowercase, edit the output after conversion; this tool does not include editorial exceptions.
