Join Lines
Join Lines combines all input lines with a separator you choose.
Example: join lines
a b
a, b
How to use this tool
- Enter one item per line.
- Set the exact separator, such as comma-space or a vertical bar.
- Run Join Lines and inspect blank entries and existing edge spaces.
How the result is made
The tool splits text at line breaks and joins the resulting lines with the literal Separator field. With a comma-space separator, “a” and “b” become “a, b”. It retains the content of each line, including leading or trailing spaces, rather than trimming it first.
When to use it
Use it to turn a short list into a comma-separated draft, join names with a custom marker, or prepare a single-line field. Remove Line Breaks always inserts a space. Split Text performs the opposite kind of operation when the source already has a delimiter.
Details to check
Blank lines become empty items and can create consecutive separators. The tool does not quote delimiters found inside values, so it is not a CSV exporter. Trim or remove empty lines first if clean item boundaries matter, and verify the destination’s delimiter rules.
Questions people ask
Can I use a custom separator?
Yes. The Separator field is inserted literally between lines.
Are empty lines ignored?
No. They produce empty joined items.
Does it create valid CSV?
Not by itself; values are not CSV-quoted.
