Lists & Lines
List and line tools sort, number, combine, split, filter, or compare line-oriented text. Choose whether line order, blank lines, and separators carry meaning before changing them.

Reorder or annotate lines
Sort Lines uses locale-aware alphabetic comparison; Sort Lines Numerically uses numeric-aware comparison so numbered text can sort differently. Shuffle Lines randomizes order, while Shuffle Words affects words instead. Add Line Numbers prefixes each physical line, including blank ones. Remove Line Numbers strips a leading decimal-number prefix only when it matches the tool’s pattern.
Build and split delimited lists
Add Prefix and Suffix applies literal text to every line. Quote Lines adds quoted output with escaping for embedded double quotes (but not backslashes). Join Lines with Separator places your chosen literal separator between lines; Split Text by Separator breaks on a literal string. They are convenient for simple lists, not full CSV parsing with quoted fields or escaped delimiters.
Filter and compare thoughtfully
Wrap Text reflows words to a chosen width and can split long words; it also collapses source spacing. Split Text into Chunks takes fixed grapheme counts and can include line breaks in a chunk. Filter Lines uses a case-sensitive literal substring. Compare Two Lists reports exact first-only, shared, and second-only nonblank lines. Keep an original copy if order or whitespace is part of the record.
Questions people ask
Does numeric sorting calculate numbers?
It changes comparison of numeric-looking portions in lines; it does not perform arithmetic.
Will split-by-separator parse CSV?
No; it splits on a literal string without CSV quoting rules.
Does Compare Two Lists ignore blank lines?
Yes; its comparison uses nonblank line entries.
